Memories & Condolences

Larry and I played in orchestra and symphony during high school. He was a very kind, gentle man and I enjoyed seeing him during summers when he was out of school. He will be remembered by his students and is leading a choir of angels in heaven. You have my sincere sympathy in your loss.

~ Eileen Dickerson - February 20, 2015

My deepest sympathies to Phyllis and the family of Mr. Dodge. Mr. Dodge was my band teacher in Kinsley. My freshman year, I was able to go to State with my flute solo. I was the only band member to go to State that year, but Mr. Dodge still made the long trip to Concordia. He was by my side the entire year through all of my various competitions. I was truly grateful for all of his support and everything he taught me. After losing touch, I saw Mr. Dodge this past fall at the Kansas State Fair. It was so good to catch up with him! He will be missed by many.

Dear sweet Mr Dodge tought our kids. Dawnda. Pre school thru 6th and James pre school thru 3rd when Mr Dodge retired. He was so good to them. He nurchared their love of music and encouraged James to play the drums even in preschool.. He always respected and encouraged our Catholic faith. He will be missed.

I will never forget growing up with the best music teacher ever. He made music class so much fun. Mr.Dodge will always be loved and remembered in the lives of little children he taught. He will be missed greatly and will never be forgotten. Rest in peace.

Larry is directing the heavenly Choir of Angels now and forever. What a beautiful day for him

~ Andrew West - February 18, 2015

Larry always shared, "what a beautiful day", or some little thing. We will miss him. He was a good neighbor.

~ Frank & Connie Harbold - February 18, 2015

I was blessed to have attended Oklahoma Baptist University with Larry and he was one of the most incredible mentors I have ever had. He always had a positive attitude, saw the best in everyone, and could find the blessing in every thorn. He taught me so much about being a servant of Christ and of others. I know I did not tell him often enough, but I am so thankful for his example of what a Godly man should be. I cannot even begin to fathom the number of lives he touched over the years, but I felt it was important to let his family know that I was one life that was forever changed by knowing him. You have my deepest sympathy in this time of grief and I pray our Father's peace provides you comfort in Larry's loss until that time when we are able to celebrate with him in heaven.

Larry Dodge was an awesome guy, loved music, loved God's music. He
was a member of the Moscow Baptist Church, in Moscow, Kansas and
during that time was also the music minister of that church. Larry and
Phyllis came to our 25th Anniversary Celebration in October, 2013 and
shared some of his talents with the congregation. It was then He met the
Moscow Baptist Hillbilly Band and we came to Hutchinson to share with
part of his congregation at one of their farm homes. What a wonderful
time it was. Larry will be missed by many. He is surely singing in our
Lord's choir now. We send love and condolences to Phyliss and family.

Phyllis,

Larry and I were friends while we were students at Hutchinson High School. I remember Larry as a kind and compassionate individual. I enjoyed reading the bio of Larry's life and the contributions that he made helping students in the Hutchinson School System. Know that Larry is safe in the arms of God.

With Sincere Blessings,

~ Rob Johnson - February 17, 2015

Larry will be missed so much in Sunday School at Westside Baptist. He always brightened up the room with his big smile. And he had such a beautiful singing voice. Phyllis and him usually sat behind me in church and I was so blessed to be able to hear him sing. Heaven has another Angel. Phyllis I know how you feel and am here whenever you need me.
