Mary Ann Taylor Field, 88, died Tuesday January 13, 2015. She was born Sept. 26, 1926 in Greenwood County, KS, the daughter of Delbert Francis and Gertrude Barnes Taylor. Mary Ann grew up in Russell County and graduated from Hoisington High School. Following high school, she graduated from Grace Hospital School of Nursing in Hutchinson. She was an active member of United Methodist Women at First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, and of the General Federation of Women's Clubs. On Dec. 13, 1947, she married Eugene Holden Field. He died in 2007.
She is survived by her children, Kathryn Field, Rebecca Golden (Michael), Roger Field (Cathy), David Field (Rhenda), Patty Valyer (George), and Mary Rosalie Field. Grandchildren, Susan Sheridan (Scott), Ross Golden (Rebecca), Samantha Golden, Nick Field (Lori), Shelly Field, Curt Field, Carlie Field, and Sam Field. She has 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Nancy Kaiser (Melvin), Hoisington, a brother Bud Taylor (Onita). of Marietta, OK, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, with Reverend Jeff Slater officiating. Inurnment will follow at Eastside Cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9AM to 9PM Friday, with the family present from 6-8pm that evening, all at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson or the Kansas General Federation of Women's Clubs, both in care of the funeral home.
