Shirley M. Dearing, 79, died November 19, 2014 at Mennonite Friendship Manor, South Hutchinson. She was born November 17, 1935 in Hutchinson, the daughter of Earl and Hazel Casey Martin. Shirley was a 1953 graduate of Hutchinson High School. She was a homemaker most of her life. She attended Mennonite Manor Friendship Chapel. She married Tom Dearing on March 1, 1953 in Hutchinson. He survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Tim Dearing (Lisa), Loudon, TN, 2 daughters, Sharon Meyer (Mick), Topeka, KS, and Joni Fry (Darrel), Augusta, GA, a brother, Warren E. Martin, Gladstone, MO, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association, both in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson.
