Dwayne F. Dick, 80, of Hutchinson, died Nov. 9, 2014 at his home in Hutchinson. He was born Sept. 13, 1934 in Hutchinson, the son of John A. and Ursula J. Peltzer Dick.
He was a lifetime Hutchinson resident, graduating from St. Teresa’s High School in 1953 and was a United States Navy Veteran. He was the Owner/Operator of the former Dick’s Conoco and Dick’s Texaco Service Stations; he was retired from Dillon’s Warehouse. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post 68, both of Hutchinson.
On July 3, 1954 he married Mary Ann Pruitt in Hutchinson, she survives of the home. Other survivors include his children; Cindy (Mike) Ratzloff, Hutchinson, Sue (Rob) Lind, Inman, Laura (Glen) Schmidt, Bartlesville, OK, Kathy Stringer, Hutchinson, Nancy (Mike) Smith, Inman, and John (Tonia) Dick, Enid, OK, two brothers; Jim and Bob Dick, both of Hutchinson, 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Eugene and Ralph Dick and a sister, Delores Crow.
Parish rosary will be 6:30 PM, Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Joseph Eckberg presiding, burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Wednesday with the family present from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Holy Cross Catholic Church or Hospice of Reno County in care of the funeral home.
