Dorothy Alice Louise Gagnebin, 85, Hutchinson, died October 24, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 6, 1929 in Lawrence, the daughter of Lulu Fritz Walter. She was a graduate of Cherryvale High School. She started out as a bookkeeper for Mid Plains Finance, Hutchinson and retired from Bank 4, Wichita, KS as a Compliance Officer.
Dorothy was a member of the Noon Lion's Club, Central Kansas Polio Survivors Group, VFW Ladies Auxillery, American Collector's Association, and on the Board of Director's for Twin Oaks Boy's Home.
She married Richard "Dick" Gagnebin on January 5, 1968 in Hutchinson. he died Feb. 5, 2012.
Survivors include her children, Richard L. and wife Georgeanna, Hutchinson, Tony Railsback and wife Tammy, Sterling, and Stephanie Sigler and husband Bert, Hutchinson, a brother, John Walter, Oakridge, Tenn., a sister, Marjorie Emmons, Hutchinson, 7 Grandchildren, and 12 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, Nov. 1st at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson, with Rev. Dr. Kim Biery presiding. Private family inurnment will take place at Fairlawn Burial Park. There will be a book to sign from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Thursday and Friday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Central Kansas Polio Survivors Group in care of the funeral home.
