Linda Burger
1948 - 2014

Linda Rae Burger, 65, passed away May 22, 2014 at the Reno County Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born Dec. 8, 1948, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Herbert and Theresa Clark Harrison, both deceased. She had a brother, Clark Harrison, also deceased.

Linda graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1966. She went one year to Hutchinson Community College and one year to Salina Area Technical College, taking a commercial art course. She met her husband in Salina, while they both attended the college. Linda worked several years at Hutchinson Montgomery Ward's, in the catalog Department. She later worked for the Hutchinson Public Library, driving the Bookmobile and delivering books to area nursing homes and daycare for 20 years. She really loved helping people, young and old, making lots of friends over the years. She had an amazing love for animals, volunteering at the animal shelter for awhile.

Linda married Steve Burger in Hutchinson on June 27, 1969. He survives.
She is survived by a son, Steve C. Burger, Broken Bow, OK, a daughter, Lori Barnes, Harrisonville, MO, 3 granddaughters, Allison Burger, Edmond, OK, Allyx Bolte, Kansas City, MO, and Audrey Barnes, Harrisonville, MO, and a great grandson, Izaak Burger, Edmond, OK.

Linda lived life to the fullest, loving family and friends. She loved going to the lake and boating. She also loved traveling to many different places over the years. The trip she enjoyed most was going to England, Scotland, and Wales, many years ago.

She will be deeply missed by all those who had the good fortune to know her.
Cremation is planned, there will be a book to sign from 9am to 9pm, Thursday and Friday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM, Sat., May 31, 2014 at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 700 E. 25th Ave., Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House or New Covenant Presbyterian Church, both in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson.
