Isa Elaine Rumback, 86, died Friday, April 19, 2013 at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
She was born September 3, 1926 in Lucerne, Kansas on the Teel Family Homestead, the daughter of Arthur “Artie” Lewis Teel and Anna Vera Shoemaker Teel.
A 1944 graduate of Lenora High School, Lenora, KS, she received her Normal Training Certificate. Isa spent 6 years as a teacher in Northwest, KS, she was an Avon and Shaklee Vitamins sales representative for many years, and was a devoted homemaker.
On August 7, 1948 she married Wilfred James “Fritz” Rumback at Hays, KS. He died September 21, 1998.
Moving to Hutchinson in 1954, she belonged to St. Teresa Catholic Church, where she led prayer groups and Bible study, was an active member of the Crotchet Angels Group at Elmdale Community Center, and a beloved “aunt” and mentor to many.
Survivors include; her children, Kathy Bynum and husband Gerald, Olathe, KS, David Rumback and wife Gretchen, Wichita, KS, Don Rumback and wife Karla, and Bill and wife Ana, both of Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by; her brother, Francis “Snook” Teel, and sisters, Beryle Martin, LoRene “Polly” Getz, and Joan Burr.
Parish Rosary will be 7:00 P.M., Sunday April 21, 2013 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home Chapel, Hutchinson. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Monday April 22, 2013 at St. Teresa Catholic Church with Father Nicholas Voelker presiding. Burial will be in Penwell Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.
