Today the world lost someone who was truly a blessing. Sue touched so many lives and made a difference to so many people. You may know her as “Granny Sue” and if you met her, you couldn’t help but love her. She took care of everyone in her life and now it is her turn for God to take care of her in Heaven. Mom, Granny, and Aunt Sue, we will miss you.
Donna “Sue” Patten Ullom, 64, passed away at her home on February 27, 2013. She was born September 3, 1948 in Elk City, OK, the daughter of Willie and Susie Jeffers Patterson. A resident of Hutchinson most of her life, she was a baker for the 4th Street Dillons in the Bakery. She was a member of New Life Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson. She married Robert Patten on June 28, 1965 in Hutchinson. She later married Lyle Ullom on October 15, 1987.
Survivors include a son, Danny Patten (Rosa), Hutchinson, a daughter, Laura Patten-Parker, Arlington, TX, a granddaughter that she helped raise, Leslie Bodine (Johnnie), Hutchinson, 2 stepdaughters, Cheryl Shuff and Annette Shuff, both of Hutchinson, a step son, Nathanael Ullom, Hutchinson, a sister, Wanda Cox, Sayre, OK, 3 brothers, Harold Patterson, Sayre, OK, Doug Patterson, Hutchinson, and a twin brother, Donald Patterson, Hutchinson, 12 grandchildren, Leslie, Teja, Brennan, Dylon, Daniel, Victoria, Andrew, Jessica, Chelsea, Ryan, Angel, and Josh,4 great grandchildren, Treston, Tay'Lynn, Kaylee, and Mada'Lynn, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and 3 brothers, Johnny, Billy, and Danny Patterson.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday at New Life Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson, with Pastor Gary Worthington presiding. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson. Visitation will be held from 1-9PM Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Council of Reno County in care of the funeral home.
