Christie De Etta Rutter, 56, died February 28, 2015 at the Rice County Municipal Hospital, Lyons. She was born October 11, 1958 in Arkansas City, KS, the daughter of Henry and Catherine M. Rutter Eggleston. A resident of Sterling the last 7 years, she had previously lived in Hutchinson, Nickerson, and Pretty Prairie. She was a cook at the Rice County Jail for several years. She enjoyed motorcycles and being with family and friends.

Survivors include 3 sons, Sha'e Koenke, Arkansas City, Mason Phillips, Hutchinson, and Chase Phillips, Nickerson, her father, Henry Eggleston, Winfield, step father, Claude Koenke, Pawhuska, OK, a sister, Cheryl Genescritti, Hawaii, 2 step brothers, Jeff and Doug Koenke, 1 step sister, Terri Siler, and 3 grandchildren, Dakota, Shyanntea, and Charlotte.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Koenke and 2 infant brothers, Casey and Jeffrey.

Cremation is planned. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9AM to 9PM Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Darrel Grubbs presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arkansas City Kiwanis Club, in care of the funeral home.
