Anita Jeanne Page Drake, 83, died March 20, 2014 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
She was a resident of the Wesley Towers Community. She was born July 14, 1930, in Boynton, Missouri, the daughter of Forrest T. and Vita Gibson Page. A resident of Hutchinson since 1957, she taught Home Economics in District #308 at both Central and Liberty Junior High Schools.
She married James M. Drake on August 13, 1950, in Kirksville, Missouri. He died January 1, 1999. She is survived by 2 sons, Douglas James Drake and wife Nancy, Amery WI and David Page Drake and wife Karil, Glendale, CA; a sister, Carolyn Wilson, Eldridge, IA; grandchildren, Hillary, Tyler and wife Kathryn, Daniel and wife Whitney, Celeste; great-grandchildren, Avery and Nora.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and an infant son, Daniel Page Drake.
She was a member, Deacon, and Elder at First Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson, for many years. More recently she was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Hutchinson. She belonged to P.E.O. Chapter CM. She was a member and volunteer at Wesley Tower Board of Trustees, the American Red Cross, the Hutchinson Hospital Auxillary, Hutchinson Symphony, Hutchinson Art Association, Friends of the Library, Youth Friends, and the Sewing Club.
Cremation has taken place and the ashes interred at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may sign a memorial book from 9AM to 9PM Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson. Memorial services will be held Friday, March 28, at 10:30 AM, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 140 East 30th Avenue, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church or to donors choice, in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home.
