Alberta F. Zongker, 80, left her earthly home to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012. She was born Oct. 15, 1931 in rural Raymond, KS the daughter of Bennie M. and Jannie E. Lickteig Cruth.
She was a 1949 Raymond High School graduate. She was a receptionist for Hayden’s Salon and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Hutchinson, a longtime member of the Hutchinson Sweet Adeline’s and a fond collector of Angels.
She had been married to Basil L. Ferguson, she later married Dwight Zongker, he preceded her in death. Other survivors include a son, Ben Ferguson, Chester, VA, three step-children; Phil Zongker, Patricia Green and Mary Spears, her sister, Anna M. Burns, Lyons, and a cousin that was raised as a sister, Eva Ann Cook, Springfield, MO, a grandson, David L. Ferguson, Columbia, MO and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two infant daughters; Linda Faye and Phyllis Jean, four sisters; Mildred Guthrie, Margaret Stuart, Vera Steierl and Velma Hoelscher.
Memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Sat., Sept. 22 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Autrey presiding. Cremation has taken place. There will be a book to sign from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Thursday and Friday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
