Kathleen A. Grass, 56, died January 16, 2015 at Hospice House, Hutchinson, surrounded by her family. She was born January 18, 1958 in El Paso, TX, the daughter of James Donice and Joan Anne Bonin Dockens. She was a 1976 graduate of Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School, Wichita. She was a member of Countryside Baptist Church, Hutchinson. She married Norman Grass on August 18, 1998 in Las Vegas. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Anthony (Amanda) Dockens, Wichita, a daughter, Sharon Clift, Hutchinson, 2 step-daughters, Valerie (Dave) Green, Stafford and Chrischel (Mike) Peterman, Lyons, a sister, Donna Vaughan, Texas, 2 brothers, Dave Dockens, Rose Hill, and Steve Dockens, Mulvane, 6 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 1 step great grandson, and 45 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Aiden Dockens.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Countryside Baptist Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Ron Kyker presiding. Cremation will take place following the services. Visitation will be held from 9AM to 9PM Friday, with the family receiving friends from 6-8PM that evening, all at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of the funeral home.
