Neta L. Teufel, 92, 0f Hutchinson died Nov. 13, 2014 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 23, 1922 in Greensburg, KS, the daughter of Gordon and Rosa Wilson Kerrick. She was a Hutchinson resident since 1964 moving from Pratt.
She was a graduate of Greensburg High School. She was a homemaker and had been a PBX Phone Operator for the former Grace Hospital, Hutchinson. She was a member of First Christian Church and Christian Women’s Fellowship. She loved to make her own jewelry and had a vast collection of hand painted collector’s plates.
On July 29, 1943 she married Raymond Teufel in Kingman, KS, he died May 11, 1996. She is survived by her daughter, Sue Bates (Wendell), Hutchinson, KS, two grandsons, Kirk Pike, Hutchinson, Steve Pike (Sherry), Phoenix, AZ, and two great-grandchildren, Tristen Pike and Lane Pike. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Kerrick and seven sisters, Ebbie Potter, Opal Schmidt, Ruth Sturgeon, Florence Johnson, Olive Parkin, Zelma Graves and Doris Platt.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, Nov. 17 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to First Christian Church or Dillon Living Center Activity Fund.
