Layton O. Warn
1921 - 2013
Layton O. Warn, 91, of Hutchinson, passed away at Dillon Living Center, following a long illness. He was born Aug. 4, 1921 in Halsey, NE, the son of Elmer and Ethel (Cox) Warn.
He was a graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He had retired from GTE/Sylvania as an Electrical Engineer with their Intelligence Department.
He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during World War II and was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was a member of the Pearl Harbor Association and the V.F.W.
On April 4, 1921 he married Marcia Best in Chicago, IL. Survivors include his wife, two daughters; Gail Muston, Wichita, Eileen Fleury, Nickerson, grandson, Zachary Fleury, California, two nephews; Denton Warn (Marilyn), March Warn (Barbara) and a niece, Maxine Christiansen (Dennis). He was preceded in death by an infant son, Roger Layton Warn and his brother, James.
Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dillon Living Center in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory.
