Ralph C. Murphy, 96, died June 21, 2015 at the Kansas Veteran's Home, Winfield. He was born September 21, 1918 in Pretty Prairie, the son of Charles and Cora Niese Murphy. He was a 1936 graduate of Pretty Prairie High School and had received his Bachelor of Music degree from Emporia State University in 1940. He was a Major with the United States Air Force for 20 years, serving in WW II and the Korean War. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Junction City. He married Bernice Muenzenmayer on October 25, 1942 in Junction City. She died May 23, 1988. He was a wonderful father and family man.

Survivors include a son, Charles and wife Sharon Murphy, Hutchinson, 2 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Roy Murphy.

Cremation is planned. Services will be held at a later date, in Junction City. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory.
