Maurice Joseph Weber, 94, passed away on May 15, 2015 at his home in Hutchinson. He was born August 23, 1920 in Great Bend, KS, the son of Herman and Gertrude Hermes Weber. He attended St. Teresa’s High School, graduating with honors. He was a Veteran of World War II.
He was employed by Montgomery Ward where he managed the shoe department, later became manager of Cains Shoe Store, he then went to manage the Redman Family Outlet Shoe Store with his wife. They retired in 1982. He was also a member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #982, and was an avid bowler.
He married Callie Marie Hardcastle at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, May 28, 1942, she preceded him in death May of 2008. Other survivors include three sons; Michael Weber, Buhler, Robert Weber and wife Kanha, Oklahoma City, OK, David Weber, Hutchinson, six daughters; Sharon Yingling, Feasterville-Trevose, PA, Toni Martinez (Moss), Hutchinson, Kristen Krieder and husband Forrest, Pampa, TX, Jill Miles and Eddie Castor, Lila and husband Steve Fowler, and Patti Weber all of Hutchinson, plus numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Judith Ann Weber, two sisters and four brothers.
Graveside service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum with Fr. Nicholas Voelker presiding. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Reno County in care of the funeral home.
