Charles K. “Chaz” Davis, 86, died May 9, 2015 at his home in Hutchinson. He was born Dec. 8, 1928 in Lincoln Center, KS, the son of Charles Albert and Lena Turner Davis.

He was a longtime Hutchinson resident and was retired from the City of Hutchinson in the Street Department. He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the Christian Church. He enjoyed walking at the Hutchinson Mall with his wife, ever since it was built, he also enjoyed sketching people’s faces everywhere he went and especially enjoyed singing Karaoke all over the city.

He married Esther May June 8, 1961 in Hutchinson and she died in 2008. Survivors include his children; Charles Davis Jr., Michael Akins, Charlotte Coker, Lucinda Curtiss, Della Cox-Redford, Virginia Redford and Vicki Crowe, all of Hutchinson, he is also survived by numerous, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters; Brenda Davis and Mary Cochrane, son, Raymond Akins and two sisters; Elva Beeney and Ilene Mustard.

Funeral service will be 2:00pm Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00am to 9:00pm Wednesday. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Reno County in care of the funeral home.
