Ardy J. "Slim" Wuthnow, 56, died April 20, 2014 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born September 8, 1957 in Hutchinson, the son of Arvid and Betty Wuthnow. A graduate of Buhler High School, he had received his motorcycle mechanic certificate from MMI, Phoenix, AZ in 2005. He was a paint and body man for 35 years. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Guardians of the Children, Hutchinson Reno County Hawks Special Olympics, Boys Scouts, American Legion Sons, and Patriot Guard. He knew no strangers, he had a contagious smile. On October 14, 1978, he married Marie Witt in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include 3 sons, Andy J., Hutchinson, Allen J. and wife Tracy, Concord, CA, and Aaron J. and wife Tiffany, Lyons, a brother, Arlis (A.J.) J., Hutchinson, 3 sisters, Millie Braun, Maineville, OH, Arvida J. Newcomer, Marion, IN, and Analeis, J. Pruitt, Hutchinson, 6 grandchildren, Adrian J., Avri M., Tristyn E., April J., Lesley, and Kyley, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at First Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson, with Pastor Doug Wyatt presiding. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9AM to 9PM Tuesday, with the family present from 6PM to 8PM that evening, all at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hutchinson Reno County Hawks or the Guardians of the Children, in care of the funeral home.
