Mary C. Means, 63, died March 27, 2014 at at Mennonite Friendship Community, South Hutchinson. She was born September 7, 1950 in Pritchett, CO, the daughter of William and Margaret Walton O'Rorke. She was a graduate of Trinity HIgh School and had attended Hutchinson Community College and Wichita State University. She received her associate's degree in business from Blair Business College, Colorado Springs, CO. She managed a Pizza Hut in California for 15 years. She retired from managing the Mirastar in 2005.She enjoyed water aerobics at the YMCA. She married Larry Means on June 7, 1968 in Hutchinson. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Tony Means, FL, 3 daughters, Stacey Smith, Hutchinson, Lisa Means, Hutchinson, and Tari Rusinack, Indiana, a brother, William O'Rorke, TX, and a sister, Margaret Hale, TX, 9 grandchildren, Kylee Douglas, Trishelle Burchett, Tara Rusinack, Devon Means, Tiffany Rusinack, C.J. Smith, Raven Means, Mason Smith, Zander Means, and 2 great grandchildren, Sage and Logan Douglas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Patty O'Rorke.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Park Place Christian Church, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Dr. Kim Biery presiding. Friends may sign a memorial book from 9AM to 9PM Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Council of Reno County, in care of the funeral home.
