Judith A. French, 67, of Hutchinson, died Sept. 10, 2014 at Hospice House. She was born Aug. 9, 1947 in Lawrence, KS, the daughter of Myron Eugene “Gene” and Ellen Marie Botts Hubbard.
She was a 1965 graduate of Hutchinson High School and had been an X-Ray Technician and was retired from USD 308 as a Library Aide for both Wiley and Allen Elementary Schools. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and had been a Hutchinson resident since 1950 except between 1971 and 1981 while traveling with her husband and his military service.
She married Larry J. French, Sr. on May 15, 1971 in Key West, FL, he survives of the home. Other survivors include a son, Marc French, Kansas City, MO, three step-sons; Larry French, Jr. and wife Vicki, Humboldt, TX, Steve French and wife Jera, Buhler, KS, and Tim French and wife Robin, Inman, KS, a sister, Mary Jane Dreher and her husband Felix, Pittsburg, KS, a nephew, John Dreher and family, Roscoe, IL, a niece, Sara Dreher, Pittsburg, KS, an Uncle and Aunt, Walt and Betty George, Independence, MO and numerous grandchildren and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Memorial service will be 10:00am Sat. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Slater presiding. Inurnment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. There will be a book to sign 9:00am to 9:00pm Friday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church or Hospice House in care of the funeral home.
