Clyde Prevo, 94, died Aug. 18, 2014 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born May 8, 1920, the son of John and Mae Clark Prevo in Centerton, Ark. He was a longtime Hutchison resident.
He had been a butcher for Winchester Foods, and had retired in 1986 from USD 308 in the Custodial Dept. at Hutchinson High School. Clyde was a member of Hutchinson/Reno Masonic Lodge #124 A.F. & A.M., and was a 32 degree Mason, also belonging to the Wichita Consistory and Scottish Rite, he was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star and was of the Nazarene Faith.
On Jan. 8, 1940 he married Alta Kahler in Newton, KS. Survivors include his wife, Alta of the home, daughter, Debra Cox and son-in-law Scott Cox of Grove, OK, five grandchildren, Ben Wahlers, Angela Dvorak, Dana Cox, Chris Cox and Valerie Cox, six great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Sat. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home; burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Friday with the family to greet friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Assoc. in care of the funeral home.
