Margaret J. Scott, 81, died July 7, 2014 at Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita. She was born September 2, 1932 in Pratt, the daughter of James J. Morrison II and Mary Helen Green. She was a 1950 graduate of Pratt High School and a 1952 graduate of Pratt Community College. She was an executive field director for the Girl Scout Wheatbelt Council for 23 years. She was a lifetime member of Girls Scouts of the USA and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She married Donald T. Scott on February 11, 1956 in Pratt. He died May 15, 2008.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Ellen Schlagel and husband Bill, Wichita, and Julie De Leon and husband David, Laredo, TX, 2 grandchildren, Kiley Scott and Zachary Chenault, 2 nephews, and 3 nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 daughters, Donna Chenault and Cheryl Crouch, and a brother, James J. Morrison, III.
A parish rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Hutchinson. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with Father Joseph Eckberg presiding. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Visitation will be held from 1-9PM Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland, in care of the funeral home.
