Harlen L. Glenn, 86, died April 3, 2014 at Sandstone Heights Care Home, Little River. He was born July 11, 1927 in Manhattan, KS, the son of William and Winnie Gransberry Glenn.

had worked for Barton Salt and Cargill Salt for 44 years. He had served as Vice President of International Chemical Workers Union Local # 188. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

On Aug. 16, 1949 he married Frances Dick in Newton, KS, she survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Karen Schierling (Gene), Hutchinson, two sons, Randy Glenn, Sherman, TX, Rick Glenn (Sharon), Sherwood, WI, a brother, Wesley Glenn, Wilmington, CA, four grandsons, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.

Funeral service will be 10:30am Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Ureche presiding, burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Visitation will be Sunday 1:00pm to 9:00pm and Monday 9:00am to 9:00pm, with the family present from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Memorials may be given to Sandstone Heights in care of the funeral home.
