Doris M. Lock, 88, formerly of Hutchinson, died Feb. 6, 2010 in Manhattan, KS. She was born Jan. 17, 1922 in Inman, KS, the daughter of Emil and Emilie Peterson Olson.
A Hutchinson resident since 1942, moving from Inman, she was an Inman High School graduate. She was a Certified Nurses Aide, retiring in 1976. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.
On June 27, 1943 she married James F. Lock in Windom, KS, he died May 30, 1998. Other survivors include, two sons; John Lock and DeWayne Lock, both of Hutchinson, three daughters; Deloris Sopinski, Leawood, KS, Clarinda Goodrick, Hutchinson and Janet Ulrey, Manhattan, KS, two sisters; Inez Olson and Gladys Shook, both of Hutchinson, 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Everett and three sisters; Edith Volk, Viola Olson and Ruth Johnson.
Funeral service will be 10:30am, Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Ron Kite presiding. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 5:00pm to 9:00pm Monday and 9:00am to 9:00pm Tuesday, with the family receiving friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.
