Letha Bracey, 92, passed away at Good Samaritan Village, Hutchinson, on January 22, 2010. She was born December 22, 1917 in Raymond, Mississippi, the daughter of Ollie and Leonia Reed. Letha worked as a lab assistant at Hutchinson Community College, retiring in 1982. She was a faithful member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Hutchinson and NAACP. She married George Bracey in 1937. He died April 10, 1963.
Survivors include daughters, Georgia Mounts (George), Mary Alice Reynolds, Carol Scott, and Patricia Biddle, all of Hutchinson, sons, Robert (Deborah), Tulsa, OK and Michael, Chicago, Ill, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, 2 step great great grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by sons Norris and Charles and daughter JoAnn.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church 1015 E. 7th, Hutchinson, with Reverend William Green, Sr. presiding. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Tuesday, at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Village, in care of the funeral home.
